New Student Registration

To register new students at Sidney Elementary School, please call Nancy Edwards in the Sidney Central School District registrar's office at 561-7701, option 1.  Parents/guardians will be asked to make an appointment to complete paperwork, present the child's birth certificate, immunization records and two forms of proof of residency.

Stars of the Month

Sidney Elementary School's Stars of the Month are selected based on outstanding academic achievement or improvement and for displaying the five character pillars:  responsibility, respect, trustworthiness, fairness and caring. Lunch Time Super Stars

Lunch Time Super Stars are students with outstanding behavior and good manners in the cafeteria during their lunch time.  They are awarded a certificate.  Our November Lunch Time Super Stars are:  Molly Barnes, Dustin Jump, Makayla Ruiz, William Hunter, Holly Bookhout, Amber Reilly, Daniel Morris, Mia Freudenmann, Saadia Butt, Gabrielle DeRoche-Chase, Cameron Sawdy, Hunter Langstaff, Mariah Jimenez, Tiana Savino, Brady DeVost, Ethan Alldredge, Glenn rogers, Hailey Hoag and Baylee Jones.

Outstanding Bus Riders of the Month

These students are being recognized for displaying good character while riding the bus, following the rules and listening to adults.  Bus riders are chosen by the drivers and receive a certificate from the Transportation Department for their outstanding behavior.  Outstanding Bus Riders of the Month for October are:  Emma McKown, Olivia DeMott, Madison Blincoe and Helen Howard.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES BY GRADE LEVEL

Kindergarten

Please label these supplies with your child's name:
  • an art smock (A big, old adult sized t-shirt works best.)
  • 2 plastic two-pocket folders for take home papers
  • rest/quiet time mat (plastic/tri-fold type)
  • clip board
  • large backpack (with name on inside)
  • A complete change of clothes to be kept at school.
Please do not label these supplies as they will become community supplies:
  • 1 container of Clorox Disinfectant Wipes
  • 2 large boxes of tissues for the classroom
  • 2 boxes of crayons - regular size not jumbo (24 pk.)
  • 1 package of #2 pencils (Ticonderoga are the best.)
  • 4 glue sticks
  • snack (box of cookies or crackers for the entire class)
  • 2 bottles of Elmer's school glue

First Grade
  • Art smock or old shirt
  • change of clothes
  • 1 large container of antibacterial wipes
  • 2 large boxes of tissues
  • backpack
  • 2 two-pocket folders (one green and one red)
  • 3 packages of plain #2 pencils (No glitter or design pencils.  Ticonderoga is best.)
  • 2 erasers (The soft pink ones work best.)
  • 4 large glue sticks
  • crayons (A box of 16 or 24.  Crayola is best.)

Second Grade

  • bottle of white Elmer's glue
  • 3 glue sticks
  • 1 sturdy two pocket folder (take home folder)
  • student scissors (Fiskars are great!)
  • a box of crayons (24 count is plenty)
  • 2 large boxes of kleenex for classroom use
  • art smock or a large t-shirt
  • backpack or tote bag
  • sneakers for gym
  • 1 container of antibacterial disinfecting wipes
  • a plastic pencil box
No trapper keepers or three ring notebooks (They don't fit in the desks or tote trays.) 
Do not bring lined paper or spiral bound notebooks to school as we supply paper they need. 
No mechanical pencils.


Third Grade
  • pencils

  • markers (optional)
  • 3 marble composition notebooks (no spiral notebooks)
  • looseleaf paper (wide ruled)
  • bottle of glue or glue stick

  • 6 - two pocket folders (red, orange, yellow, green, purple, blue)
  • art smock (an old shirt will do)

Fourth Grade
  • 1 dozen pencils (no mechanical pencils)
  • 2 packages of wide-ruled looseleaf paper
  • 1 large boxes of tissues
  • 1 zippered trapper keeper
Please remember that student planners will be provided by the school.
